This marks a change for Factiva as the company combines its collection of global news and business information--unavailable on the free Web--with its new algorithmic search technology and personalization capabilities.
Factiva iWorker Search Technology is a patent-pending system and method that matches keyword searches to the filtering capability embedded within Factiva's proprietary taxonomy. The taxonomy consists of company, region, industry, language, and subject codes that are universally applied to Factiva's entire content set to help ensure more precise and accurate results. In addition, the search experience is personalized as users set their preference for a specific region and industry, which influences the relevance of their results. Factiva iWorker Search Technology is a capability of Factiva's product platform and will be available in the following products: Factiva.com, Factiva.com Individual Subscription, Factiva Search Module, and Factiva Search in Microsoft Office 2003. A new Factiva Toolbar, powered by the technology, has been created to give users convenient access to Factiva's content through their browser.

A new Community feature delivers dynamically updated and relevant content, based on personalized information that users set for their specific industry, region, and job function. This includes profiled and timely news on an industry of choice, articles most read by users within their peer group, and articles deemed important by Factiva's team of editorial experts.
