Facebook Combines Apps With Action-Specific Ad Targeting

Feb 01, 2012

Facebook added Open Graph to its Platform to bring action-specific ad targeting to advertisers, according to WebProNews. The goal of Open Graph is to deliver ads that are more relevant to users and thus more likely to generate sales.

Through user activity and purchases via Facebook apps, companies can deliver offers that are more relevant to the user's interests. For example, if a user bought an MP3, services like Ticketmaster could advertise an upcoming concert; because the show would be of interest to the user, the chances of a purchase increase.
