Extensis Inc. has announced the immediate availability of its digital asset management (DAM) solution, Portfolio 7 and Portfolio Server 7 for Windows (Macintosh versions will be available in May). Portfolio is designed to enable photographers, graphic artists, and other individuals and workgroups to organize, retrieve, repurpose, and distribute digital files quickly. Portfolio Server also provides access to assets across the Internet and other wide area networks, opening the communication channel between distributed team members and partner networks.
For real-time collaboration, Portfolio's new AutoSync functionality allows users to assign tasks to Portfolio Server, enabling automatic synchronization. This feature also offloads file management and processing to Portfolio Server, boosting the system's overall workflow efficiency.
Portfolio 7 Client supports Windows 2000, XP Home, XP Professional, and QuickTime 6.4 or higher. Portfolio 7 Server supports Windows 2000 and 2003 Server. Portfolio NetPublish requires Microsoft IIS Versions 5.1 or 6.0. .
Portfolio 7 is available at an estimated price of $199.95 with a single NetPublish license. Additional NetPublish licenses can be purchased for approximately $199.95 (five concurrent Web connections) or $999.95 (unlimited Web connections). In addition, upgrades to Portfolio 7 are available for $99.95. Portfolio Server's estimated price is $3,499.95.
