Ex Libris Group announced the third installment of the Alma library management service. The third release is being deployed to partners in the Ex Libris cloud environment and represents another milestone on the road to the solution's general release, which is planned for early 2012.
Highlights of this third partner release include advanced integration with libraries' discovery layers, support for multiple cataloging formats, acquisition workflows from ordering to invoicing and receiving, user-driven digitization workflows, e-resource support, and role-based user dashboards. The release's features were defined in collaboration with development partners such as Boston College, the Princeton University Library, and the Purdue University Library.
The Ex Libris Alma solution is designed to accelerate libraries' move toward next-generation services, and uses cloud infrastructure to help libraries improve data sharing and collaboration.
