Ex Libris Group has announced the general availability of version 2.0 of the ALEPH 500 Reporting Center (ARC). ARC 2.0 supports library planning processes by making data about collections, services, and workflows available to library personnel. ARC delivers real-time reports and statistics on library activity by extracting data from the ALEPH integrated library system, building logical relationships between data elements, and loading this information into a data warehouse. Among the new features in this version is the generation of follow-up reports designed to enable users to identify and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the data warehousing process. Over 100 new predefined reports--designed according to customer specifications--use the ALEPH information stored in the data warehouse to provide ARC users with the ability to generate statistics based on different aspects of library activity. Staff can also choose to create customized reports for specific institutional business purposes. These custom reports do not require any background in SQL programming.
