Endeavor Information Systems and Elsevier Engineering Information have announced the results of a partnership to develop an XML gateway from Endeavor's ENCompass for Resource Access federated search system to access content sources hosted on Engineering Village 2. The collaboration leverages Endeavor as a provider of advanced library technology systems and Elsevier Engineering Information's reach into the engineering marketplace in an effort to provide customers with solutions for improving research.

Via Endeavor's ENCompass for Resource Access, researchers can now perform federated searches of Engineering Village 2 resources including Compendex, Inspec, and U.S. National Technical Information Service (NTIS) databases. Engineering Village 2 is a Web-based discovery platform for the engineering community. The XML gateway to Engineering Village 2 is currently available with ENCompass for Resource Access release 3.5.
