Elsevier Adds New Feature to ScienceDirect

Jul 22, 2010

Elsevier, publisher of scientific, medical, and technical products and services, introduced a new feature to its ScienceDirect database that aims to improve the usefulness and accessibility of scientific chemistry content. The new feature allows authors to submit the structure files of their key compounds along with their journal articles. Elsevier then plans to use these structure files to add compound identifiers to the articles, in a manner similar to that in which blogs are tagged with certain identifiers to improve searchability.
ScienceDirect is one of the world’s largest online databases of peer-reviewed scientific research articles.
