EDGAR Online, Inc., a provider of value-added business and financial information on global companies, has released its new I-Metrix suite of products based on eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL).

EDGAR Online's I-Metrix products provide the ability to analyze more than 1,000 normalized and as-reported data points from companies' financial statements. Coverage includes U.S. securities, including public, private, and non-U.S. companies who report financials to the SEC. By the end of 2005, EDGAR Online plans to include data on additional global securities and private companies.

The product line includes I-Metrix Professional delivered via Microsoft Excel and I-Metrix Architect, which provides an application program interface (API) delivered through a SOAP-compliant web service. EDGAR Online's I-Metrix Architect allows developers to empower any software application with XBRL data. EDGAR Online's I-Metrix Professional includes the company's new add-in for Excel, access to XBRL-formatted company financial data and customized Excel templates. The add-in for Excel eliminates the need for clients to manually key data into spreadsheets.

EDGAR Online's I-Metrix suite of XBRL products is available via annual subscriptions. EDGAR Online will market I-Metrix directly through its corporate sales staff. The company will also market I-Metrix via partnerships with Microsoft, Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation, Rivet Software, Financial Executives International (FEI), and others.
