EMC and Paisley Consulting Deliver Sarbanes-Oxley Solution

Jul 23, 2004

EMC Corporation and Paisley Consulting, a provider of business accountability software, have announced the immediate availability of a solution that is designed to help companies manage operational risk and meet requirements and impending deadlines for the U.S. Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act of 2002.

The solution unites the EMC Documentum Enterprise Content Management platform with Paisley Consulting's Risk Navigator, a platform for enterprise risk management, to provide a compliance framework that can assist companies in demonstrating that all internal controls and processes related to financial disclosures are fully documented, certified and auditable, in accordance with Sections 302, 404, and 409 of SOX. The combined solution offers: a control framework with predefined features, such as checklists reflecting objectives, risks, and controls; process documentation with version control and role-based security; a risk assessment module that enables organizations to assess, control, and implement compliance processes; and detailed, flexible audit trails and reporting features with multiple levels of reporting, tailored for different audiences.

The solution is also intended to help companies address other compliance initiatives that require detailed recordkeeping, stringent controls and procedures, and audit trail capabilities, such as the U.S. Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations, and BASEL II, an international accord on banking supervision.
