ECNext, a provider of market expertise and Web commerce services for business publishers and advisory firms, has announced the appointment of Chris Skudder as chief executive officer. Skudder will be responsible for overall company strategy and operations, with an initial focus on scaling the company's sales and marketing activity to take advantage of growing market opportunities. He has 25 years of experience in growing businesses in competitive technology-based marketplaces. Since 1992, Skudder has served three different businesses led by a single group of investors and principals: NTL, a UK broadband provider; CoreComm, a Columbus-based integrated communications company; and Cellular One of Ohio and Michigan. As COO of NTL's Consumer Division, he led the growth from startup to $800 million in revenue, through multiple acquisitions and funding rounds. Skudder holds a bachelor of arts degree from Williams College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
