EBSCO Publishing released the EBSCOhost App for Android, allowing Android users to search through their libraries' premium EBSCOhost content from their mobile devices, wherever they are. Designed to provide the same experience as viewing EBSCO's library resources online, the EBSCOhost Android app gives users options to limit search results by databases, full text articles, date ranges, peer-reviewed content, and publications. Content can be saved for offline viewing in PDF format, and results can be emailed to the user or to others.

The free app is EBSCO's newest addition to its mobile access technology offering, which includes support for iOS, BlackBerry, Windows, and Palm devices via a web application; a native app for Apple's iPhone and iPod touch devices was created in the spring. In order to download the app, users can obtain download instructions, an access key, and a link to the app listing in the Android Market when they access EBSCOhost from their libraries or corporate intranets.
