EBSCO Publishing has introduced the Points of View Debate Blog to the Points of View Reference Center as to provide a forum for students to discuss topics in the news and debate them with their peers. The blog is free to subscribers of the reference center.

The Points of View Reference Center offers users information about news topics each month and also explores the basics of debate; the blog then invites them to provide their insight and encourages them to build on the resources provided by the reference center. Each month, EBSCO will award one student a $200 prize for submitting "the most thought-provoking and well-crafted comment" to that month's blog topic.

EBSCO has also created a Twitter account (@PointsofView_EP) that provides another avenue for discussion as well as links to the blog website (http://ebscohost.com/pov-blog). A monthly enewsletter will highlight the winner of the best student commentary, preview the following month's blog topic, and keep subscribers up-to-date on announcements about the service.
