EBSCO Publishing (EBSCO) and Information Today, Inc. have come to terms on an agreement whereby EBSCO has acquired two databases, Information Science & Technology Abstracts and Internet & Personal Computing Abstracts. This development marks another addition to the list of database acquisitions finalized by EBSCO in recent months. ISTA (formerly Information Science Abstracts) is designed to promote the science, management, and technology of information through the abstracting of pertinent books, journals, ejournals, conference proceedings, reports, and patents. ISTA, published nine times a year, has provided library and information science records from more than 450 publications dating back to 1966. IPCA (formerly Microcomputer Abstracts) provides access to information on the latest personal computing products and developments in business, education, libraries, the Internet, information science and technology, and the home. Over 120 trade publications, mainstream computer magazines, and professional journals are covered, including those that focus on specific topics such as electronic commerce, publishing, Macintosh, Windows, programming, and more. IPCA is updated on a monthly basis.
