Dialog Makes Content Alliance With Spain's EFE

Apr 18, 2003

Dialog, a Thomson business and a provider of online-based information services and integrated information solutions, has added content from Spain's international news agency EFE to its Dialog NewsRoom service. Dialog NewsRoom is an online database of current and recent news reports gathered from around the world. It offers single-search access to more than 7,500 sources of news reporting, including broadcast transcripts, newspapers, periodicals, newswires, trade and scholarly journals, and other sources, drawn from nearly 80 countries in English and ten other languages. The content now available from EFE spans the Spanish-speaking world, with an emphasis on reporting from Latin American countries and news about Hispanic communities in the United States. EFE, based in Madrid, has its main editing desk for Latin America in Miami, Florida. EFE is supplying Dialog with continuously updated feeds of 12 of its specialty wire services (10 in Spanish, one in Portuguese and one in English), covering a broad range of news and analysis. Specific topics covered by EFE's 12 specialty wire services include agriculture, automotive, business, culture, economics, and politics, as well as breaking international, local, and national news. Dialog NewsRoom is available through the Dialog-branded platform of online service, as well as the Dialog DataStar and Dialog Profound services, both also offered by Dialog. The service is also available as a stand-alone Web-accessible service.
