Copyright Clearance Center Kick-starts Certificate Program

Feb 13, 2012

Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) launched the OnCopyright Education Certificate Program. The program is comprised of industry-specific courses that are geared towards a number of different user communities and their respective challenges in managing copyright. Diane Pierson, vice president of marketing, said the OnCopyright program is designed "for knowledge workers responsible for managing compliance and ethics, obtaining permissions, organizing various license agreements or dealing with content."

The program is comprised of a series of instructor-led eLearning courses incorporating group discussions, Q-and-A sessions, analyses of real-world scenarios, plus group and individual activities. CCC aims to teach participants the principles of copyright, how to evaluate potential exceptions and limitations to copyright protection, determine when copyright permission may be needed, and content sharing and its implications.
