Thomson Gale, part of The Thomson Corporation, has announced enhancements to three of the company's online databases: Biography Resource Center, What Do I Read Next?, and Social Science Electronic Data Library. Nearly 29,000 more descriptors have been added to the Biography Resource Center. With this enhancement, users will now see even more descriptors like "(American golfer, 1975)," "(Russian composer, 1923 - 1964)" and "(American witch, 1621 - 1692)" to help narrow their searches. New content has been added to What Do I Read Next? Included in this update are: 2,118 new titles, including 816 nonfiction titles; 395 new plot summaries; 37 new recommended reading lists; and 722 new searchable terms, including time periods, locations and genres. Three new data sets have been added to the Social Science Electronic Data Library. The new additions are: CWP Data Set No. 19--2000 Food Stamp Program Quality Control Database, Mathematica Policy Research Inc. for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service. CWP Data Set No. 30-31--Third National Incidence Study of Child Abuse and Neglect (NIS-3), September 5 through December 4, 1993, Andrew J. Sedlak, Irene Hantman, Dana Schultz. CWP Data Set No. 32-33--National Youth Victimization Prevention Survey, 1992-1994, David Finkelhor.
