CollabNet, a provider of collaborative software development solutions, has announced a multi-level relationship with Sun Microsystems. CollabNet has completed a full port of the CollabNet SourceCast Collaborative Development Environment (CDE) to the Solaris Operating Environment. CollabNet will also qualify the Sun ONE Studio for Java Integrated Development Environment (IDE) to use source code repositories within the CollabNet SourceCast environment. In addition, CollabNet is renewing its Sun Developer Connection Program membership. This announcement extends the existing long-term relationship between the two companies. CollabNet is already working with Sun Microsystems and providing the CollabNet SourceCast environment for several Sun collaborative development projects, including NetBeans.org, OpenOffice.org, JXTA.org, Sunsource.net, Grid Engine, and Jini.org. Sun ONE Studio for Java is an IDE for Java technology. Based on the modular, open source NetBeans Tools Platform, Sun ONE Studio is designed for building and deploying Web services across multiple hardware and software platforms. Developers using the Sun ONE Studio IDE will be able to directly check source code into and out of the software configuration management system in the CollabNet SourceCast environment.
