BEST PRACTICES SERIES

CodeGuard has created a new pricing plan for its online service with the goal of making website backup and monitoring accessible to every small and midsize business. The company, which has offered website backup for over five years and says it currently monitors more than 250,000 websites for 50,000 companies, will now offer a free version of its service along with existing paid versions. CodeGuard Free costs nothing, comes with a guarantee, and supports one site, one database, and 5GB of storage per company.

The plan includes daily automatic backup, ChangeAlert notifications and seven days of backup retention. In the event a restore is necessary, customers will pay $20 for a one-time restore or $48 for "Vault," entitling them to 24-hour access to unlimited restores. Customers need only provide a name, email address and password at sign up--no credit card required. CodeGuard is the only company in its space to guarantee the success of its backup service.
