ChaCha Launches Media Messaging Service

Sep 14, 2010

ChaCha, a service specializing in answering user-submitted questions on several topics, launched the Media Messaging Service (MMS), which will allow ChaCha to supply users with rich media content and advertisements on their mobile phones. MMS, which ChaCha reports will be compatible with almost all mobile phones, supports videos such as movie trailers, and images such as coupons and logos.

ChaCha hopes to further engage its more than 15 million unique monthly visitors through MMS. The company additionally offers advertisers several ways of using MMS, including the option to deploy existing rich media content, such as sports highlights or music videos; provide users with a text response code that launches a special video when used; or display a coupon for immediate local redemption using barcodes.
