Centennial Software, a developer of IT asset discovery and security management solutions, has announced the release of Discovery 2005, the latest release of its solution for network inventory and IT asset management. Discovery 2005 is intended to offer businesses and the channel community a software tool for dynamically finding, identifying and auditing all corporate hardware and software on a network.

Discovery 2005 is a decision support tool designed to be used for : addressing key IT business decisions, cutting costs and time out of network management, and making it easier to manage decentralized, multi-platform networks.

New features in Discovery 2005 include: user-configurable dynamic dashboards for key audit data analysis, an online resource "portal" for instant access to vital software reference information, and several updates designed to improve the audit speed, information accuracy and application support.

The new Discovery.Dashboard is designed to provide different organizational stakeholders with dynamic user-configurable summary reports. Furthermore, it makes it easy to see specific IT asset configurations, usage and location details with the click of a mouse. For example, by using the Discovery.Dashboard Web interface, executives can instantly determine how much of their software portfolio is at risk for a BSA or SIIA compliance audit - or what assets can be redeployed to avoid new purchase costs. Discovery 2005 will be generally available in July 2005. Pricing information will be announced at launch.
