Canto, a provider of digital asset management (DAM) solutions, has announced its partnership with RedDot Solutions AG, a provider of Web- and enterprise- content management solutions. The basis of the cooperation is the integration of Canto's DAM solution, Cumulus, with RedDot's content management server (CMS). The combined solution is mainly targeted at mid-sized organizations with large amounts of multimedia files and is intended to help them manage and publish content efficiently and with improved structure. Additionally, the system offers the ability to assign rights to media files and workflows can be displayed and linked if needed. The extension enabling the connection of RedDot CMS and Cumulus will be available free of charge. Details on availability and usage will be published on Canto's Web site.
RedDot has also announced that the State Accident Insurance Fund corporation (SAIF), a workers' compensation insurance company in Oregon, has selected the RedDot Extended Content Management Suite (XCMS) in an effort to improve content retrieval times and reduce intranet operational overhead from supporting HTML tools. SAIF's goal in selecting a content management system was to improve overall efficiency of the intranet while maintaining a consistent look and feel throughout the site. They also needed a system that would enable all departments to own their information without the need for HTML knowledge. XCMS is designed to have a modular structure that can scale to an organization's current or future needs and provide applications including Web content management, document management, business process workflow, digital asset management, collaboration, personalization, and back-end integration.
