Bowstreet, a provider of development tools for adaptive J2EE applications, has announced that Bureau Veritas has licensed Bowstreet Portlet Factory. Bureau Veritas is a conformity assessment, certification, training, and consulting group specializing in quality, health and safety, environment, and social accountability management. Bowstreet Portlet Factory is expected to help Bureau Veritas create, update, and maintain its knowledge management portal, which will be rolled out to 5,000 employees in more than 100 countries. Bowstreet Portlet Factory will also allow Bureau Veritas to integrate this portal with its existing Lotus Notes application.
The knowledge management portal is a collaboration tool for subject matter experts throughout Bureau Veritas. Communities within the company, including government services, aeronautics and space, offshore industries, international trade, telecommunications, electronics, transportation, energy, and manufacturing, will use the portal to interact and share information on topics such as government standards, protocol, sales opportunities, assessment training, and key clients. Valtech, a strategic Bowstreet and IBM portal partner that builds WebSphere portal solutions, selected Bowstreet as their strategic tool in an effort to increase the productivity of portal development, both for their clients and for their own development initiatives.
