Bowker to Acquire Business Intelligence Firm BML

Bibliographic info provider Bowker announced the acquisition of BML, a provider of market research for the UK book market, from previous owner Publishing New Ltd. The precise terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed, but Bowker did announce that BML's entire staff would be relocating to its own London offices and that BML's business would not be interrupted by the acquisition.

BML, which is based in London, has provided market research for the UK book industry for 20 years. In addition to its research role, the firm heads the Book Marketing Society, a membership organization of book marketers. BML will be joining Bowker as part of its Publishing Services division, joining Bowker's similar US-based PubTrack Consumer service.
