Blogging Platform Posterous Secures $725K in Funding

Posterous, a website that allows users to post multimedia entries to a blog via email, has secured $725,000 in angel funding, according to reports. Zimbra CEO Satish Dharmaraj and former Netscape CEO Eric Hahn led the round, with additional funds from XG Ventures and other private investors like Mozilla Foundation chair Mitch Kapor and Alltop’s Guy Kawasaki. With Posterous, users do not need to sign up before they get their first post online. Also, Posterous can pull in content emailed to other sites like Twitter and Facebook.
