Question and answer-based site Ask.com began testing a newly revamped version of its flagship site, which will focus more on answering questions. The new site is part of an announced strategy by the company to move away from providing links in response to queries, instead providing specific answers. The new site was built with Ask.com's proprietary search technology, which can draw from a wide variety of sources, including the Ask.com community.

The new Ask.com will initially be available only as an invitation-based beta, featuring a newly redesigned interface and a back-end user community that will be used to answer subjective or especially complex questions.
