Day, a provider of ECM and unification software, has been selected by Aral, a subsidiary of the oil group BP, to implement several Web initiatives. Based on Day's Communiqué technology, Aral's site will include interactive Web sites for partners and clients, such as a specialized micro site for automotive and industrial lubricants. Aral hopes to benefit from combining centralized content and design with the regional expertise of its individual partners. Communiqué has already been used to integrate existing SAP-based product catalogues and regional information. This flexibility and open approach are designed to provide investment protection, merging into the existing IT infrastructure. Communiqué is also powering Aral's elearning Web site, including information about fuels and lubricants and technical background materials. Aral's internal research department also makes a range of services available on this site. Further Aral projects based on Day technology are in the planning and design phase.
