Google made a move into your home with its purchase of Nest for $3.2 billion, and now Apple is getting into the game, according to The Financial Times. At the upcoming Worldwide Developer Conference, Apple is expected to make a "big play" in the world of the connected home.
Speculation says that Apple may be ready t o introduce a new platform that would turn your iPhone into a remote control for your entire home-or at least all the connected devices in your home. The speculation isn't completely wild, considering Apple filed a patent last November that outlined a system that would use your mobile device to signal that you are home and to automatically turn on your lights. Of course, we won't know exactly what Apple has up its sleeve until the conference on June 2.
