BEST PRACTICES SERIES

App Annie, a mobile app intelligence platform, announced the expansion of its Usage Intelligence product to offer data and insights to benefit telecommunications operators and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Operators and OEMs can use this new offering for a host of different needs, including device-level metrics with segmentation by device type, data plan and more; identification and tracking of device and network usage patterns (especially off-network trends with WiFi); impact of mobile device usage and its effect on network profitability.

Key usage metrics include the breakdown of data consumption by WiFi or network, device-type, mobile plan, operator, store, country and time of day, which allow companies to inform their infrastructure and pricing strategies. App Annie says it aggregates, anonymizes, and analyzes billions of data points producing accurate and granular market data for mobile apps, and now, for devices and networks. At launch, data will be available for 60 countries, across both Android and iOS.
