Apex Assists ALPSP Members with Journal Backfile Conversion; Launches 4ward CMS

Dec 02, 2003

Apex, a provider of information asset and business process outsourcing services, has a launched a program intended to make backfile conversion more affordable for members of the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP). The program was designed to place small and large journal publishers on equal footing in the market for backfile conversion services. It is also expected to encourage many publishers to follow the examples of Sage and the Institute of Physics, two publishers who helped establish the journal backfile conversion market in partnership with Apex. Concurrent with the program launch, the same two publishers led a seminar on the practical aspects of journal backfile conversion. The seminar was co-sponsored by Apex and ALPSP and open to all ALPSP members.

Apex has also announced the launch of 4ward, a content management solution for the electronic publishing industry. The new solution, intended for both primary and secondary electronic publishers, is designed to span the content management process, from content selection, to authority control, to abstracting and indexing.
