The American Humanities Index, produced by Whitston Publishing, is now available on the EBSCOhost search interface. American Humanities Index is a citation database of more than 700 literary, scholarly and creative journals published in the United States and Canada. The content of the American Humanities Index includes many smaller journals and publications that are unavailable in other reference sources. Publications are indexed cover-to-cover and citations include all original creative works: poetry, fiction, photographs, and illustrations. Backfile coverage is expected to extend to 1975 by February 2003.

EBSCO will soon release Hospitality & Tourism Index, a bibliographic database covering scholarly research and industry news relating to all areas of hospitality and tourism. This database will contain over 100,000 records from the Lodging, Restaurant, & Tourism Index (LRTI), a quarterly compilation of more than 60 hospitality and tourism trade periodicals and research journals, formerly produced by Purdue University. Additionally, EBSCO plans to increase the coverage of relevant periodical literature -- the new database will contain indexing and abstracts of articles from over 100 carefully selected scholarly journals and industry trade publications, dating back to the 1980's and earlier, and a new thesaurus to aid searching. Subject areas covered will include company rankings, development & investment, food and beverage management, hospitality law, hotel management, leisure and business travel, management practices, market trends, technology trends, and more.

EBSCO has also recently entered into an agreement with Point 5 Technologies to market their online source of auto repair information to public libraries and technical schools as the Auto Repair Reference Center. The auto repair information contained in this database will cover the complete automotive repair manuals that were originally published in the Chilton Total Car Care Series. The content will include more than 150 illustrated auto repair manuals on all auto repair procedures for about 21,000 vehicles identified in the AAIA table (a table of numerical ID codes for every car made); more than 56,000 Technical Service Bulletins; wiring diagrams; and labor time estimates. Text and many images will be available in PDF and GIF format. New repair procedures/updates will be added continuously, and Technical Service Bulletins will be added on a monthly or quarterly basis. The Auto Repair Reference Center will be released within the first quarter of 2003.
