Looking to expand its reach into the realm of video content, Amazon has announced that it will be developing original content for a new comedy series as well as a children's series. Amazon is looking to its audience for the material by asking them to submit ideas and proposals to its website. The winning proposals would be distributed through Amazon's digital video streaming service.
Amazon will select a winning submission each month and test it with an audience. If Amazon decides to make it a full series, there are cash and royalty considerations for the creator.
The brave folks at the Pew Research Center's Internet & America Life Project interviewed 799 teens to get a better understanding of how the kids interact with online video. From April 19- July 14, 2011 the teens were asked about their online behavior, and Pew put the results together in a report published on its website.
