Altova Inc., provider of XMLSPY, an XML (eXtensible Mark-up Language) development environment, has announced the availability of XMLSPY 2004 integrated with Microsoft's software development platform, Visual Studio .NET versions 2002 and 2003. The new integration of XMLSPY 2004's XML development tools and utilities, directly within Microsoft Visual Studio .NET is intended to enable the Microsoft developer community to build advanced XML-enabled software applications for the Microsoft platform, allowing organizations to better realize the benefits of interconnected business systems.

XML and related Web service technologies such as XSL, XSLT, XML Schema, WSDL, and SOAP are used throughout Microsoft products and servers in an effort to increase application interoperability as well as to better preserve and re-use corporate information assets. The availability of XMLSPY 2004 integrated with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET provides Microsoft developers with access to the XML development environment directly from their software development environment, equipping them with the necessary tools and utilities to model, edit, test, and debug XML technology.

The XMLSPY 2004 integration for Microsoft Visual Studio .NET is included in both XMLSPY 2004 Professional Edition and XMLSPY 2004 Enterprise Edition which retail for $399 and $990 per installed user. Volume discounts, support & maintenance, upgrade pricing, and concurrent licensing options are available. Microsoft Visual Studio .NET is sold separately.
