Altova software version 2005 includes a native, production-ready implementation of the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) new XSLT 2.0 and XPath 2.0 specifications across the entire product line, as well as native support for XQuery 1.0. In addition, version 2005 adds new features to all of Altova's products, including graphical schema management, automated function building, Eclipse integration, and relational database content editing.

Altova Authentic 2005 is a free content editor that is intended to allow business users to enter data directly into XML documents and relational databases without being exposed to the underlying technology. Authentic 2005 is available in Desktop and Browser Editions. Version 2005 includes the following new features: Database Content Editing and XPath 2.0 and XSLT 2.0 Support.
Beta versions of XMLSpy 2005, MapForce 2005, StyleVision 2005, and Authentic 2005 are immediately available through the Altova Web site. A valid Altova Support and Maintenance Package (SMP) entitles current customers to download and activate the beta software free of charge through October 31, 2004. Customers with active SMP will become eligible for a free upgrade to version 2005 production software beginning on November 1, 2004. Altova SMP can be purchased for 25% of the product price for a one-year period or 20% of the product price per year for a two-year period. SMP renewals are available beginning 90 days prior to expiration.
