Alphalogix Announces Versona Instant Messaging System

May 25, 2004

Alphalogix, Inc., a provider of software solutions and services for the connected enterprise, has developed the Versona Instant Messaging System (VIMS) in an effort to address the high cost of enterprise wide instant messaging deployment and management. The Versona Instant Messaging System is designed to eliminate the cost of client side deployment. A client connects to a Web page for initial setup, and the client software is set up using Java Webstart technology from Sun Microsystems. The side maintenance costs are also eliminated because the client software is automatically updated to the current server version each time the user accesses the IM system. Features of the Versona Instant Messaging System include: Centralized software management and version control; Cross-platform support for Windows, Linux, Macintosh, AIX, UNIX, Solaris, and other operating systems; Interoperating capabilities with public instant messaging systems including AOL, MSN, and Yahoo!; Security; and Native LDAP and Microsoft Active Directory integration.
