Access Intelligence, LLC, publisher of min and CableFAX Daily, acquired Cynopsis Media, a producer of daily and weekly e-letters for the television, digital media, kids marketing, and sports media markets. Cynopsis was founded by TV business veteran Cynthia Turner in 1997, and publishes the daily flagship Cynopsis, which covers the TV industry, as well as Cynopsis Digital, Cynopsis Kids and Cynopsis Sports, with nearly 150,000 subscribers in 53 countries. Turner will join AI as publisher of the Cynopsis Group, reporting to Diane Schwartz, SVP of AI's Media and Communications Group.
According to AI CEO Don Pazour, the acquisition helps push digital revenue to about 20% of AI's overall earnings. The acquisition is the third in the past six months for Access Intelligence, with past acquisitions having included OR Manager, which serves the hospital market, and FOLIO: Alert publisher Red 7 Media.
