Accellion, Inc. has announced that its managed file transfer system has achieved Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2 Level 2 certification from the commerce department's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). This means that information shared over Accellion's file transfer program meets security guidelines for local, state, and federal government agencies. FIPS 140-2 Level 2 certification also clears Accellion's system for use by Canadian government agencies.
