Academic researchers looking for access to scholarly content will have a new source with the release of Academic Search Complete (ASC) from EBSCO Publishing. The database will be the latest addition to the Academic Search product line. Initially, ASC will provide a collection of 5,318 full-text journals. In terms of scholarly content, Academic Search Complete will initially contain nearly 4,000 active, full-text, peer-reviewed journals. The database will also provide full text for many non-English journals including those published in Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese. Academic Search Complete will provide full-text coverage of journals indexed in major indexes, such as PsycINFO and ISI Science Citation Index. Upon release, Academic Search Complete will include more than 800 journals not available in Academic Search Premier, and more than two thirds of those journals will have no embargo.
EBSCO has also added Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts (LISTA), which indexes nearly 600 periodicals, plus books, research reports, and proceedings, to the EBSCOhost profiles of more than 25,000 libraries. Users of the database have performed over 7.5 million searches in subjects including librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management and more. Existing EBSCO customers can add LISTA to their library profiles while others can access the information on the website. EBSCO has created Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts with Full Text. Libraries looking for full-text access to the information in LISTA can purchase the full-text version. Since the index is available for free on the web, purchasers only pay for the full-text component making Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts with Full Text an upgrade for libraries that have made the abstract a flexible tool.
