XyEnterprise, a developer of XML content management and enterprise publishing solutions, has announced that AMSEC LLC, a supplier to the commercial and Navy maritime industry, has deployed the latest releases of XyEnterprise's Content@ content management and XML Professional Publisher (XPP) software. The software will be used for managing and publishing technical data for U.S. Navy aircraft carriers, submarines, and other surface vessels built by Northrop Grumman Newport News.
AMSEC uses the XyEnterprise products in an effort to efficiently document and deliver technical data for the manufacture and operation of vessels. The output of the system includes technical data components such as Ship Systems Manuals, Hull Maintenance and Engineering Documents, and Ship Information Books. Each of these content products is delivered in both PDF format and as Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals.
The Content@ content management and workflow system is designed to manage large volumes of XML, SGML, and other content, as well as executing business rules for assembling and publishing this information. AMSEC has deployed the Content@ product as an authoring, workflow, and publishing management system. In concert with XyEnterprise's XPP publishing software, the system is used to create and manage content components and to assemble these components into documents or deliverables, including looseleaf and change-page publications.
