The American Institute of Physics announced the release of its online discovery platform, Scitation C3. The new platform is powered by the Atex Polopoly CMS, which was originally adopted by AIP in 2008. According to AIP, the adoption of Atex Polopoly was a key factor in its ability to quickly deploy Scitation C3.
Scitation C3 hosts 2,000,000 articles from more than 200 scholarly publications for 28 learned society publishers. It provides an XML foundation and a flexible framework for multi-channel distribution of content, as well as enabling publishers and end-users alike to interact with content through a single point of access.
According to the company, Atex Polopoly provided a unified CMS that lets editors publish content, create microsites, and build new pages without the need for technical expertise. AIP plans to continue migrating content to Scitation C3 and enhancing the platform with Polopoly in the coming months.
