A new research tool developed by Emory University researcher Julie Gazmararian aims to help healthcare professionals improve their health literacy programs. The new tool was developed with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and in consultation with professionals from health plans from across the country, including those who serve on the AHIP Health Literacy Task Force.

Health Literacy considers an individual's ability to read, understand, and act on medical information and instructions.
