The Internet is one of the biggest inventions of the previous century and has revolutionized the way industries operate today. In the first decade of the 21st century itself, we have witnessed its impact on businesses around the world. Thanks to the Internet, most industries have now integrated digital strategies within their business models. It is then no surprise that publishing – a centuries-old, global industry – has also joined the revolution and is transforming the way content is being consumed digitally.
The Internet has enabled multiple industries to eliminate inefficiencies and directly connect with consumers. Publishers also have the opportunity to leverage the Internet to eliminate inefficiencies in the delivery of content. Our aim at Impelsys is to help publishers connect directly with their readers. Today, establishing a direct relationship with readers has become critical for publishers to understand reader behavior, buying patterns, content utilization, etc. Not only does this empower publishers with knowledge that can help them offer better content, it also gives them insights for revenue optimization. Through our platforms - iPublishCentral and KnowledgePlatform, we have been providing the plumbing that enables this for publishers. Over the last 4-5 years, we’ve worked closely with some of the biggest publishing brands around the world and have been able to provide the right functionality needed in this space to build a winning digital strategy.
In publishing, we are still in the early days of innovation; the digital revolution that has occurred in the last decade is just the be-ginning. Innovation in technology will drive much more advancement in multiple industries to create incredible new products. We will see content being more malleable, more personalized, more adaptive to each end-user’s personal requirement. We believe publishers would need strategic technology and platform partners to help them in this transformation as content becomes more complex and becomes like software. There is a lot of innovation to be done and I for one am very excited to be part of this indus-try. We, along with our publishing customers will lead the innovation and create great products for consumers around the world.
