The right tools are an integral part of getting any job done. In the world of digital content tools are plentiful, so finding the right one for you can be tricky. That's why we ask the experts what tools they use to get their jobs done. In this month's installment, we talk to Charles Kelly, lead virtual reality engineer, Littlestar.
What are your three favorite work related apps, and why?
"This is Littlstar's favorite. It's a way to source-control our code, comprising of a bunch of repositories that allow us to go back to different times and update our codes. Every revision and change we ever made is on file through GitHub."
"iTerm2 is built on top of the OSX command line and allows you to quickly do tasks on a command line, rather than via a user interface. For someone like me who's better at typing than using a mouse, it makes it faster to navigate using the command line instead of point and click."
"Slack is great because it allows you to basically have everyone on your team in the same place. We also use custom channels to focus on certain talking points. And it allows for third party integration, for instance with GitHub. So whenever someone on my team pushes a change in GitHub, I get notified in Slack."
What is your favorite non-work related app, and why?
"This allows me to trn my brain off for a little bit! It's good to stare at on my way home when I'm tired from a long day at work."
