Article Image As CEO of Localist, an interactive online calendaring platform that makes events more easily discoverable online, Mykel Nahorniak keeps a close and admiring eye on Facebook. “Facebook is huge already but it continues to disrupt itself. [Mark] Zuckerberg and team get a lot of credit, but it’s still not enough considering where they are,” says Nahorniak.

He continues, “What are the strategies to grow when you already have two billion active users?” As for Localist, they have a significant presence in the higher ed market and also serve clients in libraries, healthcare, and tourism industries, “but we’re barely scratching the surface” of what’s possible in publishing and other industries, Nahorniak says. “So I watch Facebook not to define our trajectory, obviously, but to see how they do it.”
