Wondering why the picture you just took of your lunch and promptly Instagram'd isn't displaying properly on you Twitter feed? Well, according to The New York Times it isn't just a glitch. Instagram - and by extension, Facebook - disabled the ability for photos to display properly on the Twitter site and applications.
But what does "properly" mean? Well, apparently Instagram has pulled it integation with Twitter cards, and now Instagram photos are displaying a "pre-card experience." And according to The Times:
"Kevin Systrom, Instagram's chief executive, confirmed that the company has removed the ability to send pictures to Twitter, and plans to completely cut off embedding pictures on the Twitter Web site."
What precipitated this move? Twitter is said to be planning to introduce filters for its own mobile photo apps.
