TEMIS and Mondeca Announce Semantic Web-based Solutions
Posted Apr 12, 2005 Print Version   Page 1 of 1

TEMIS, a European text mining provider, and Mondeca, a software vendor specializing in solutions for knowledge and content organization, have announced the conclusion of a sales and technology alliance. The alliance created the opportunity for an integrated solution based on TEMIS' Insight Discoverer suite of Text Mining software designed for knowledge extraction and semi-automatic indexing of content, and Mondeca's Intelligent Topic Manager system designed to manage knowledge bases or ontologies using the standards defined by the Semantic Web.

The integrated solution from Mondeca and TEMIS is designed to: manage multilingual thesauri and taxonomies in order to share common vocabularies, organize content, and facilitate searches; federate content around business-specific reference systems and knowledge bases; and analyze internal and external sources in order to: extract knowledge to feed the business-specific reference systems and index these reference systems, in either semi-automatic or automatic mode for effective content searches.

The solution complies with the Semantic Web standards (XML, OWL, RDF, Topic Maps) and can be integrated with document management tools and search engines using its Java API and Web Services. Under the terms of the alliance, the joint solution will be marketed by Mondeca and all of TEMIS' international subsidiaries. TEMIS will also become a value-added reseller of the Intelligent Topic Manager product in the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom and Italy.
