Posted Mar 19, 2004 Bookmark and Share Print Version   Page 1 of 1

LexisNexis U.S., a provider of legal, news, and business information services, has acquired the business of Data.TXT Corporation, developer of Time Matters legal practice management workflow software, Billing Matters time-and-billing software, and Time Matters World Server, a multiplatform Web-based product. LexisNexis is a member of Reed Elsevier Group plc. The two companies have had a business relationship since January 2001 when LexisNexis became a licensed reseller of the LexisNexis version of Time Matters. The Data.TXT business is a provider of legal practice management software for lawyers in the U.S. User sites are comprised primarily of small and medium law firms, legal departments, and governmental organizations.

Time Matters, Billing Matters, and World Server will be managed through the North American Legal Markets business unit of LexisNexis, which includes operating units, LexisNexis CourtLink, LexisNexis Applied Discovery, and LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell.  The business will continue to operate from Cary, North Carolina, with the current management and staff.  Financial terms of the deal are not being disclosed.
