Aircell, a provider of airborne Wi-Fi, has announced the completion of the private placement of $176 million in equity securities. This money will be used to support network expansion and operating needs during what the company expects to be a time of robust growth.

Aircell is the creator of the Gogo portal, which, along with its mobile network, brings internet access to commercial airliners.
