Prior to joining EContent as editor, Michelle Manafy was associate editor of EMedia magazine, where she specialized in author acquisitions and editorial development. Michelle has written on a variety of technology topics including content development and distribution; streaming media; and audio, video, and storage technologies. She is currently the Editorial Director of Information Today, Inc.'s Enterprise Group. In addition to EContent, she edits the Intranets newsletter and the Enterprise Search Sourcebook and will program content for the Enterprise Search Summit in 2008. An avid snowboarder, Michelle has worked in book and magazine publishing for almost 20 years in areas ranging from pop culture to academic nonfiction. She holds a B.A. in journalism from San Francisco State University.

Marydee Ojala edits ONLINE: The Leading Magazine for Information Professionals and writes its business research column ("The Dollar Sign"). She contributes feature articles and news stories to Information Today, Searcher, EContent, Computers in Libraries, Intranets, The CyberSkeptic's Guide to the Internet, Business Information Review, and Information Today, Inc.'s NewsBreaks. She speaks at conferences, such as WebSearch University, Internet Librarian, Online Information (London), Internet Librarian International, and national library meetings outside the United States. She has adjunct faculty status at the School of Library and Information Science at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) teaching business information resources. She established her independent information research business in 1987. She serves as membership chair for the Indiana chapter of SLA and is treasurer of Indiana Online User Group (IOLUG). Her undergraduate degree is from Brown University, and she earned a master's in library science at the University of Pittsburgh.

Barbara Brynko is currently the editorial director of Information Today, Inc.'s Info-Pro Publications. For the past three years, she has been the editor-in-chief of Information Today, where she has also been writing and tracking trends and issues in the information industry. Prior to that, she spent almost nine years as the editor of Metrocorp Publishing, a custom/specialty magazine publishing firm with titles ranging from travel to home and garden. This publishing pro also spent nearly eight years in Alaska at The Anchorage Times and as the managing editor of Alaska magazine; and prior to that worked at Science Digest and SKI magazines in the Big Apple. In between office jobs, she has hung up her own shingle as a freelance writer and editor, tackling a range of business topics, profiles of entrepreneurs, market trends, and travel guides for a variety of publications. She has also pursued book editing on information technology subjects as well as travel guides. She holds a bachelor's in English literature from Boston College and a master's in journalism from Syracuse University.

Steve Smith is a digital media consultant, columnist, and writer for a number of publications, including Media and OMMA magazines, Media Industry Newsletter, and Wireless Business Forecast. Throughout the internet bubble years, he wrote and edited Min's New Media Report, where he covered new and old media struggling to make their way into a digital world. A recovering academic, he taught media studies at Brown and the University of Virginia, and has written on the rise of mass media in this century--from silent film to comic strips, newsreels to situation comedy. Smith now focuses on emerging platforms and pens a weekly column on wireless marketing ("Mobile Insider") for Mediapost.com. The self-described "media slut" and "lapsed egghead" is trying to combine his dual identities into writing a book-length study of media fragmentation and changing media usage habits.

David Meerman Scott is an online thought leadership and viral marketing strategist. The programs he has developed have won numerous awards and are responsible for selling more than 1 billion dollars in products and services worldwide. He is the bestselling author of The New Rules of Marketing and PR: How to use news releases, blogs, viral marketing and online media to reach buyers directly (2007) and Cashing in with Content: How innovative marketers use digital information to turn browsers into buyers (2005). For most of his career, David worked in the online news business. He was VP of marketing at NewsEdge Corporation and held executive positions in an electronic information division of Knight Ridder. He keynotes dozens of conferences each year and delivers seminars to corporate groups. He has lived in New York, Tokyo, Boston, and Hong Kong and has presented at hundreds of industry conferences and events in more than 20 countries on four continents. Martin White is managing director of Intranet Focus, Ltd., based in Horsham, U.K. An information scientist by profession, Martin consults on the design and management of intranets and extranets, and on the specification and selection of content management and search software. He is the author of The Content Management Handbook (2005) and Making Search Work (2007). He was the chairman of the Online Information Conference from 1999 to 2006 and has written the "Behind the Firewall" column on intranet issues for EContent since 1999. He is also reviews editor and a columnist for the Intranets newsletter. White is a member of the Publications Board of the Royal Society of Chemistry and has been visiting professor in the Department of Information Studies at the University of Sheffield since 2002.
