Information Today, Inc. (ITI) has completed the acquisition of Streaming Media, Inc. from Penton Media, Inc. The acquisition was a stock purchase whereby ITI has acquired 100% of the stock of Streaming Media from Penton Media, Inc., a Cleveland-based publisher and tradeshow company. Streaming Media, Inc. produces conferences and exhibitions in the streaming media field and also hosts the StreamingMedia.com Web site and email newsletter. In addition, Streaming Media publishes a series of in-depth reports on various aspects of streaming media technology and applications. The first Streaming Media conference and exhibition was held in San Francisco in 1998, and over 10 such events have been held since then. The most recent exhibition, Streaming Media Europe, was held in early December 2002 in London and featured over 20 streaming media companies in Europe, including RealNetworks, Envivio, Network Appliance, and Groovy Gecko. The StreamingMedia.com Web site, email newsletter, and other related products will be produced and directed by Adam Pemberton, publisher of Information Today's EMedia magazine and EMedia Xtra email newsletter. Future Streaming Media conferences and other live events will fall under the direction of Dick Kaser, Information Today, Inc.'s Vice President, Content.
