According to the "2015 State of the User Experience" Report released by Limelight Networks, Inc., a provider of digital content delivery, time spent online in the past year has dramatically increased-with 45% of respondents spending more than 15 hours a week on their laptop, tablet, or phone. Who is the group making up the majority of these power users? It's Baby Boomers-individuals aged 51-69. More than half (51%) are online 15 hours/week, as opposed to Millennials-individuals aged 18-33-at just 41%.

Tuesday was a big day for YouTube. It announced a subscription streaming service, as well as a music streaming app. The membership is called YouTube Red and costs $9.99 per month for desktop, Android, and $12.99 per month on iOS. The music site launched in 1996, long before most of today's digital magazines, and has expanded to incorporate a music festival in Chicago and The Pitchfork Review.

Zooey Deschanel's HelloGiggles is now part of Time Inc. The deal was announced in a post on the site. The post says, "Under Time Inc., HelloGiggles will continue to stand for the same mission we always have: to bring positive, empowering, smart, funny stories and videos to our readers and to support new female talent and give them a safe place to express themselves across the wilds of the internet." Time Inc. reportedly paid $30 million for the site.

IgnitionOne, a marketing cloud provider, released its Q3 2015 Digital Marketing Report, highlighting trends and data for digital marketing across search, programmatic display, social, and mobile. Boomtrain announced it has secured $12 million in Series A funding with participation from Sierra Ventures, Cota Capital, and Lerer Ventures. In order to compete for ad spend with companies like Google and Facebook, 80% of digital publishers say they need better data-driven capabilities to help advertisers target their customers at scale, according to a report released by Econsultancy and Signal, a provider of real-time people-based marketing. While digital display advertising is growing at about 20% annually, ad revenues for the vast majority of digital publishers aren't keeping pace, and are even stagnant or shrinking for many, the report found.

Tim Westergren, founder of Pandora, announced via the company blog that it has bought Ticketfly-an independent ticketing and digital marketing platform. Pandora paid a reported $450 million for Ticketfly. The aim is to help artists sell more tickets-especially at small venues-by targeting fans through Pandora.
